Akash's work is at the intersection of experimental astrophysics and quantum computing, building devices to detect dark matter. Akash uses superconducting qubits to sense single photons potentially deposited by the dark matter.

Outside of the lab, Akash enjoys playing Indian classical music, baking sourdough bread, and playing basketball.
