Research
In Sung Jang is an observational astronomer with particular expertise in the analysis of big image data taken from large (ground-based or space) telescopes.
His research interests focus on resolved stellar populations of nearby galaxies with high-precision photometry.
As a KICP fellow, he is continuing his thesis project, the measurement of cosmological parameters (e.g., Hubble constant) using stellar distance indicators (e.g., the Tip of the Red Giant Branch).
His career includes 4 years of experience at the Leibniz Institute for Astrophysics Potsdam (AIP) in Germany as a postdoctoral fellow.
