Congratulations to Kaeli Hughes, graduate student, for winning a 2022 Nathan Sugarman Award for Excellence in Undergraduate and Graduate Student Research.

Zhuowen Zhang has received the Prize for the Best Poster at the Fermilab Users Meeting in August, on DES galaxy cluster research.

Congratulations to Qing Yang (Amy) Tang for successfully defending her Ph.D. dissertation on "Development of Kinetic Inductance Detectors for mm and sub-mm Observations".

Congratulations to Nora Shipp for successfully defending her Ph.D. dissertation on "Discovery & Modeling of Milky Way Stellar Streams".

His work involves exploiting superheated liquid techniques in sensitive bubble chambers for direct dark matter detection experiments.

He studies cosmology, where he analyzes the faint microwave signal coming from the beginning of our universe to help answer questions in fundamental physics.

As a sixth year PhD candidate in the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics, Gourav studies the formation and evolution of galaxies in distant galaxy clusters, using data from ground- and space-based telescopes.

Congratulations to Sam Passaglia for successfully defending his Ph.D. dissertation on "The Black Hole Window on Cosmic Inflation". Sam has accepted a postdoctoral position at the Kavli Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe.

Congratulations to Philip Mansfield for successfully defending his Ph.D. dissertation on "Why Do Dark Matter Halos Die Together? An Intergalactic Murder Mystery". Philip has received a position of a KIPAC fellow at Stanford University.

Nora’s dissertation research is on the discovery and modeling of Milky Way stellar streams, supervised by Alex Drlica-Wagner.
