The KICP occupies 27,000 sq ft of contiguous space within the William Eckhardt Research Center (ERC), completed in 2015. It shares with building with the new Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering (PME) and the Department of Astronomy & Astrophysics. The KICP ERC space includes 39 offices for faculty and postdocs, 10 large offices for graduate students and undergraduates, and an administrative “home base” for staff. The laboratory space includes 10 state-of-the-art labs, 1 large assembly lab, and 1 lab dedicated to education & outreach activities. The meeting space comprises 5 conference rooms, 1 large, dividable seminar room that seats up to 80, 1 shared auditorium that seats up to 160, a shared lounge, and several informal interaction areas. This ERC space houses the majority of the 100-member KICP community, which includes faculty, postdocs, students, staff and visitors.
