It is my pleasure to announce the appointment of Joshua A. Frieman, Professor, as chair of the Department of Astronomy & Astrophysics, effective July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2025. Josh has a strong track record of leadership and previously led the Dark Energy Survey and the Particle Physics Division at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. I want to extend my thanks to John Carlstrom for his service and leadership as chair over the past five years.
