Meet new KICP Fellow: Tanvi Karwal

Tanvi Karwal, KICP Fellow

I do phenomenological cosmology, building and testing models of dark energy and dark matter against data. My research so far concentrated on using anomalies in cosmological data to gain insight into the dark sector, and learn about physics beyond the Lambda-CDM model. This includes proposing and exploring the Early Dark Energy model that resolves the Hubble Tension. Looking forward, I am most interested in data-driven and model-independent approaches to cosmology, particularly with CMB and weak-lensing data.

I’m wrapping up a postdoc at the Center for Particle Cosmology at UPenn, and will join KICP this Fall.

Beyond science, I like art, cake and scuba-diving among other things.
