Two astrophysicists who have been selected for the prestigious NASA Hubble Fellowship Program (NHFP) have chosen to join the University of Chicago Kavli Institute for Cosmological Physics (KICP) to conduct their postdoctoral research. The Fellows are Jessica Avva and Hayley Macpherson.

The AAS Fellows program was established in 2019 to recognize AAS members for their contributions toward the Society's mission of enhancing and sharing humanity's scientific understanding of the universe.

The Kavli Institute for Cosmological Physics (KICP) has secured $10 million in new funding through two gifts: a $5 million gift from an anonymous alumnus and his wife and a match of $5 million from The Kavli Foundation. The first gift will name the directorship of the Institute in memory of Prof. David N. Schramm, a legendary professor of theoretical astrophysics at the University of Chicago.
